McLaren 750S Production Ends in 2027, and Final Orders Are Open Now

McLaren has confirmed the 750S supercar ends production in 2027 and is taking final orders. Here is what is confirmed, what is still rumor, and what comes next.

The McLaren 750S is heading for the exit. McLaren has confirmed that McLaren 750S production ends in 2027, and the company is now taking final orders for the twin-turbo V8 supercar. If you have ever dreamed of parking one in your garage, the clock just started loudly ticking.

What McLaren Actually Announced About 750S Production

Here is the short version. McLaren will stop building the 750S in 2027, and final orders are open today. That is the confirmed news.

However, some headlines are calling the car dead. That is a stretch. Taking final orders is not the same as selling out, and McLaren has not said how many build slots remain. We also do not have the exact month McLaren 750S production stops. So the car is not gone yet, but the end date is now official.

McLaren commercial boss Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer said the 750S “represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar.” That is a partial quote as Autocar printed it. It is also exactly what you would expect a company to say while it wraps up a model.

The Numbers Behind the McLaren V8 Supercar

The 750S earned its keep on the spec sheet. For starters, it packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 making 740 horsepower. According to Motor1, McLaren claims a dry weight of 2,815 pounds. Autocar lists the same output as 740 bhp and puts the weight at 1,277 kg.

In the UK, pricing starts at around £250,000. We could not find US pricing for the 750S. If you are shopping for final 750S orders, your local McLaren retailer is the place to ask.

A Decade-Long Run Comes to a Close

This story is bigger than one car. The 750S belongs to a family that began with the 720S, which arrived for the 2017 model year. The 750S followed in 2023 as a heavily updated successor. The same platform also spawned the 765LT and the 788HS, so one design produced four models over roughly ten years.

McLaren billed the 788HS as the final derivative on this platform. The company revealed it at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed on 9 July, and it makes 777 bhp. Autocar reports that McLaren’s MSO division will build 200 highly customized examples, priced from £450,000. So the end of McLaren 750S production was widely expected. Now it is official.

Meanwhile, McLaren is also busy with its image. The company recently showed off a new logo with a surprising link to Bruce McLaren’s past, which suggests a brand that is rethinking itself from the badge on up.

Why the 750S Discontinued News Matters

Pure V8 supercars are becoming rare. McLaren said back in 2023 that the 750S was likely among the last pure-V8 series models. It added that limited-run V8-only specials might follow, but series production would go hybrid. That is the reason this announcement lands the way it does.

For buyers, the message is simple. If you want the last mainstream McLaren with a pure V8 and no battery pack to explain, this is the window. Will prices on used examples climb once the order books close? Nobody knows. Still, collectors tend to notice when a model has an end date.

What Comes After the 750S End of Production

Autocar says McLaren is set to retire the 750S, Artura and GTS in the coming years. That clears the way for a new line-up that includes an SUV, under ownership of the Abu Dhabi government’s investment body. McLaren has not announced any dates for that line-up.

Treat the next two items with caution. One report from about three weeks ago says McLaren will drop the Artura in 2028. It cites an unnamed source, and McLaren has not confirmed it. Separately, autoevolution suggests a V6 hybrid replacement, codenamed P34, could be coming. That is speculation for now.

CarBuzz notes that McLaren is expected to show a new mid-engine sports car around the time McLaren 750S production ends. The V8 era is closing, then, and the hybrid era is already lining up behind it. The brand’s racing side is not slowing down either, as Lando Norris signing through 2030 shows. The only open question is how many drivers will grab the last of the V8s before the doors shut.
