Paramount+ hasn’t announced a Season 3 premiere date yet. The Landman Season 3 delay is real, but it is not breaking news, and the cameras are already rolling in Texas.
The “just delayed” headlines making the rounds this week are months old. Here is where things actually stand.
Where the Landman Season 3 delay came from
The original spark was an interview. Actor James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley, told Us Weekly in late July that production would start in September, not August. Soon after, Collider reported his comments and the rest of the trade press piled on.
His words: “We start that sometime in September, and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year.” As a result, the shoot slid into early 2027. It also followed earlier targets, since Billy Bob Thornton had first pointed to a May start, then August.
One caveat matters here. This came from an actor in an interview. In fact, I found no Paramount+ statement announcing a delay, and no official reason has been given.
Why the Landman Season 3 filming delay story is already stale
The post says production “will now begin” in September. That moment has come and gone. Jordan has since posted a set photo with the caption “Up n runnin’ and back after it!”, as Complex covered. Meanwhile, Paramount+ confirmed production on Oct. 1, according to TV Insider.
Either way, a Landman delay that ended in a working set is hardly a crisis. Streamers have also been slow to move on other shows lately, as Claire Danes’ Netflix thriller getting Season 2, nearly a year late shows.
What we know beyond the Landman Season 3 delay
Paramount+ greenlit Season 3 in December 2025. Jordan says it will run 10 episodes, matching the first two seasons. His description: “10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes.”
Michael Kelly has joined as a series regular, playing William Crockett. And the story picks up where Season 2 ended, with Tommy Norris fired from M-Tex and starting his own company.
That’s the real news, and the delay chatter has been drowning it out.
When is the Landman Season 3 premiere?
Here’s the thing: nobody outside Paramount knows yet, and that’s what matters if you’re planning your viewing calendar. The network has not announced a premiere date. Outlets are projecting mid-to-late 2027, and Screen Rant puts the earliest realistic window around May 2027.
That would break the show’s November habit. Season 1 premiered in November 2024 and Season 2 in November 2025. Season 2 also set a Paramount+ record with 9.2 million streams in its first two days, per the streamer, so the wait will be felt. Notably, a long gap does not always hurt a hit, as Gladiator II topping Netflix after a weak box office proved.
The workload is a fair question too. Taylor Sheridan also had Marshals, The Madison and Dutton Ranch debut this year, which may explain the slow lane for Landman. Paramount’s parent company is also in a cost-cutting mood, as Skydance’s buyouts and five-day office mandate suggest.
So mark your calendar for 2027 and ignore any “just announced” delay posts. The only announcement that matters is a real premiere date from Paramount+, and it hasn’t come yet.
