Some people get a fruit basket. Netflix just handed Jason Statham a revenge movie, and the man who made him a movie star is directing it.
The streamer announced Tuesday that Guy Ritchie will direct Statham in Dogfight. The Jason Statham Guy Ritchie Netflix movie is their seventh film together.

Here’s the number worth repeating at dinner. Ritchie gave Statham his first film role in his 1998 directorial debut, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, according to Variety. By my math, that makes this partnership about 28 years old. Most Hollywood marriages don’t last that long.
What We Actually Know About Dogfight Statham
Not a lot, and that’s the honest answer. Netflix calls it a “stylish revenge actioner set in the London criminal underworld.” That’s the entire official pitch so far.
Ritchie writes, directs and produces. Statham stars and also produces through his company, Punch Palace, Comic Basics reports. Ivan Atkinson of Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and John Friedberg of Black Bear are also producing.
There is no plot, no supporting cast and no release date yet. Filming starts in the UK in early 2027, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Neither Ritchie nor Statham has given an on-record comment in the coverage we found.
Why the Dogfight Netflix Movie Matters to You
Here’s the thing: this one is made for Netflix, so you won’t need a theater trip or a ticket. It should land on the same service you already pay for.
That said, Netflix hasn’t announced a date, so don’t clear your calendar yet. (Streaming costs are a hot topic right now, as France’s push to tax Netflix data shows.)
It is also the first Ritchie and Statham film made specifically for Netflix, What’s on Netflix says. Their earlier work, which includes Snatch, Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune, went the traditional movie route. In other words, the Statham Ritchie Netflix film marks a real change of venue.
The Ritchie Machine Never Stops
Don’t call this a long-awaited reunion. Their last team-up was 2023’s Operation Fortune, but another one, Viva La Madness, has already wrapped and still hasn’t been released, per The A.V. Club.
So Dogfight will actually arrive after a film that hasn’t even come out yet.
Ritchie is also still busy with Netflix. His series The Gentlemen, starring Theo James, began production on Season 3 in October, UPI reports. One outlet counts six Ritchie movies in just four years. Does the man ever sleep?
Hollywood delays are common, too, as the Landman Season 3 ‘delay’ turned out to be.
For Statham, it’s a smart pairing. His best-known work includes the Transporter and Fast & Furious films, The Meg and The Beekeeper. Put him in a London underworld story built for revenge, with the director who started his career, and you know roughly what you’re getting. This Jason Statham Guy Ritchie Netflix pairing promises fists, one-liners and very sharp suits.
The next thing to watch is who joins the cast. Ritchie loves a crowded ensemble, and a few familiar faces would be a safe bet. Until Netflix says otherwise, though, that’s a guess and not a fact.
